My main suggestion would be to explore ways to integrate your app with ravelry. I already manage my stash and projects there - what I really need is a better mobile tool to help get that info into ravelry and retrieve it when I'm on the go.
allow us to be able to rename the counters for specific stitch catagories
Add fields for yarn weight (oz/g) , yardage and number of skeins in the yarn section
allow us to put start and end row numbers in for the counters so that we don't have to go to reset when our pattern is complete and we are starting the next sequence.
I would like to be able to upload patterns into KnitMinder via PDF. So many of my patterns are available on PDF but I hate having to print them out and carry them around. I did buy another app that included a PDF reader and it was really easy to transfer the pattern to my phone but it would be nicer if the pattern were integrated with Knitminder. Make it possible to link counters so that it automatically keeps track of the number of repeats. Also, I love it that you can start the counter at any number. How about a setting to make it reset after a certain number. IOW, I have to repeat rows 57-60 10 times. Have it reset to 57 every time I go past 60, and link to another counter that increments up each time I finish the repeat.

Example: set the PATTERN ROW to 12 and set the PATTERN REPEAT to 7 (the total ROWS COMPLETED starts at zero). Currently I add my pattern into the "notes" section of the project, but if it's a lengthy pattern, it can be hard to read and if I have to go back to another part of the pattern it can be a long process to scroll up and down in the tiny notes section. So perhaps if there were a tab to go back and forth between a pattern ...more »

Also needs to be updated for multitasking for iPhone 4. It's annoying to have to reset everything when I have to exit the app for something.

I am not a big user of knitting apps as of yet because I am a lover of free apps and haven’t yet found one which can do the one thing which I really think I could find good use for: Calculating the number of stitches between increases and decreases for me. Are there really no apps which incorporate this feature?? Then consider this a request. :o)
It should be possible to enter new yarns, patterns, and needles from the lists displayed in the edit project view.
Add a tab for keeping track of magazines and books.
It would be great to be able to specify yarns/needles and other notions that I need to purchase in order to complete my project (versus knowing what needles, yarn etc I already have). In the yarn category it would also be great to have a quantity on hand and ball weight so I know how much wool I already have when I see that cute new pattern in the knitting store...
I suggest you...Modify the programing to release the needles to my inventory and delete the projects yarn from my stash when I label a project as complete.
Add auto fill in, so for example, when you are entering several different colored yarns you can copy from the previous or have the field fill out the information after you type the first few characters.

It would be great to have an iPad version especially if you can have a PDF of the pattern in the book. The iPad would be great for viewing patterns as you're working.
Make StitchMinder stay on in the powering cradle (i.e. when on mains power) like Knit Minder does.
Make Knit Minder default to the last screen I was using (e.g. the counters) when I run it because I only use it for counters on a "temp" project - as if it was StitchMinder - because it stays on when the iPhone is on mains power unlike StitchMinder.
I would like to be able to keep track of how much yarn I have in my stash and to indicate how much I use on a project. Currently I see yarn in my stash that is all used up. I'd like to be able to view all yarn or only yarn with a quantity greater than zero remaining.
KnitMinder could be made more crocheter-friendly by adding more types of hooks (such as Tunisian), the sizes of steel hooks, and the ability to type custom hook sizes (right now I have to select "no size" and then type "15.75 mm" or whatever into the Notes section).

When entering project details, it would be great to be able to select multiple yarns at once, rather than selecting one, waiting a minute or more for it to return to the previous screen, and then doing it all over again. (It's not so bad when the project only uses a couple of yarns, but it can become really time-consuming!)
Give StitchMinder frog buttons like in KnitMinder.

Please add a way to delete counters. I keep pressing the + button by accident and adding more counters but there's no way to delete them.
